The town of Sandanski is a resort located in the foot of Pirin Mountain and is famous for its unique climate and thermal springs. The influence from the Mediterranean Sea makes the winter mild and the autumn – long. The city has a wonderful town park spread around 34 hectares with over 200 Mediterranean plant species. The remarkable combination of balmy, healthy weather and curative mineral waters makes Sandanski the perfect place for modern SPA treatments and rehabilitation therapies.

Worth seeing

The Archeological museum is situated in the center of the town (12, Georgi Dimitrov blvd). the museum has a rich collection of more than 27 centuries and a research center where excavations are carried out all year round.
On the outskirts of the town is the monument to Spartacus. Spartacus, was the leader of the biggest revolt in the Roman history. He was a native Thracian who inhabited the surrounding areas of the town. Attention should also be paid to St.George's church dating from 1861 and to the Monastery St. Kozma and St. Damian.
